Descriptive
Statistics:
I am used
both collected data and created data on 497 people to show the descriptive
statistics of a sample of Georgia.gov users such as age, gender, salary , and
if they are a state employee. I am also showing statistics of how many online
applications they use and visits to the portal per week. I will try and see who
is the primary audience and if there is any relationship between number of
times a user visited a site and the number or applications used. This data will
help us better understand who is coming to the portal and what services they
are using. We will then be able to improve the portal so it can provide more services
to the people who are needing them the most.
The first category
was age. Age was categorized into four groups: (1) if 20 or younger, (2) if 21
to 40, (3) if 41 to 60, (4) if 61 or older. Age group two has the highest frequency
of usage. This age group (age 21-40) tends to be the younger working class and
have young families. This shows that the portal is being used by younger
business people who tend to be more familiar and comfortable with technology.
None of the descriptive statistics were very useful in this case.

Gender was the
next category studied. All that can be displayed is number of males and
females.

Salary was the
next category analyzed. The most useful statistics were:
Mean -

Median - $54,200
Min - $10,100
Max - $130,700
The next
section of data I analyzed was how many are users are State Employees?

After all the general data was analyzed, I wanted to know if there was any correlation between number of visits per week and the number of online applications used.
As shown in the scatter chart below, surprisingly there is almost no correlation between number of visits per week and the number of online applications used.
