How?

I am using my formal training along with experience I have learn in both my successes and failures to create value for my client’s customers by researching, evaluating, recommending, and implementing changes that will add to the customers experience on the website and therefore return value to the client.

In my tiny amount of spare time after work and school, I enjoy painting and photography as well exercising and spending time outside.

I currently work for the Georgia Technology Authority as the Studio Manager in the creative department. I run the day to day operations of the official State of Georgia website www.georgia.gov. I believe that I am highly creative and conceptual and I expect that my MBA classes will complement my fine art degree in supplying me with the business knowledge and rationale to further explain and support my design decisions in the business environment.

Why am I doing what I do?

After changing my major four times, microbiology, computer science, business, and finally graphic design I discovered not only that I have a wide variety of interests but also that I would work where I truly enjoyed the work I did. Right now I really enjoy what I am doing. I actually enjoy the challenging work and responsibility placed on me. My five year plan is already underway since I started my MBA which is becoming VP of a large marketing or design firm. I have already established myself as a successful designer and consultant. My next step is to learn management skills in both my MBA classes and current management role. By the completion of my MBA, I will have both the business knowledge and management experience to accept a position as a Vice President or Director role.

Why should anyone care?

For my family it will mean higher compensation which will give us more flexibility and stability. As for myself, I hope that it provides an accelerated career path. I want to be more involved in the decision making and I feel that the combination of my undergraduate degree, MBA degree and work experience will create value for me and my company.
